2018 Dodge Charger Review

"Drivers in Gilbert, Mesa, and Tempe can find out more about this practical and exciting vehicle with our 2018 Dodge Charger review.

Performance

Despite its mild-mannered image, the 2018 Dodge Charger is all muscle under the hood. Starting with the base level, the Charger is equipped with a 292-horsepower, 3.6L V6 that produces 260 lb-ft of torque, with the available Rallye Group performance upgrade that takes these numbers to 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. This engine is strong and smooth, mated to a consistent eight-speed automatic transmission.

It also offers a pair of high-performance V8 engines. The 370-horsepower, 5.7L V8 produces 395 lb-ft of torque, and is a stunningly quick engine that conserves fuel with cylinder deactivation. The 6.4L V8 is rated for 485 horsepower and a 4.5-second 0-60 MPH runtime.

The truest muscle is found in the range-topping Hellcat, however, with its supercharged V8 that produces 707 horsepower and a 3.7-second 0-60 runtime. This is the same engine that powers the incredible Challenger Hellcat, equipped with some additional performance features like adaptive dampers, Brembo® brakes with six pistons, and a selectable drive-mode system.

In any configuration, the 2018 Charger is a nimble vehicle, handling the sharp turns and changing landscape with the lightness of its sportscar companions, while also having the composure to offer a smooth ride to its passengers.

Style

Still one of the most retro vehicles on the market, the 2018 Dodge Charger updated its look back in 2015, giving it a slimmer style and waspy sculpting. There are some unique accents on the different Charger models, but they all have subtle details and aggressive shapes to differentiate them from their plain, boring competitors.

Inside, the Charger has a cohesive look with dark, minimalistic features, and subtle shapes and accents. Small hints of metallic trim and a logical, futuristic instrument cluster give the interior a race-inspired look, while the soft-touch materials and ample space provide plenty of comfort.

Technology and Features

"Depending on the model, the 2018 Dodge Charger can be had in all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive, but all Chargers come with power accessories, a USB port, Bluetooth® connectivity, cloth upholstery, a rearview camera, parking sensors, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ capability.

Throughout the trim levels, there are many different features included, such as convenience features like heated or ventilated front seats, safety features like blind-spot monitors, or performance additions like a sport suspension, and BILSTEIN® dampers.
