There are many new features for the 2017 Dodge Durango. There is a new available Anodized Platinum appearance package for the Citadel model, this package includes black and sepia two-tone leather seats with silver accent stitching, hand-wrapped instrument panel with soft-touch surface with silver accent, Anodized gunmetal trim on the steering wheel and the front and rear door speakers, platinum chrome trim on the transistor gauge cluster, and other platinum chrome exterior accents on the grille surround, door handles, fog lamp bezels, and badges. There are also two packages available for other trims called the Blacktop package and the Brass Monkey package. Under the Durango's Hood

The base engine in the Durango it a 3.6-liter V6 with 260 pound-feet of torque and 290 horsepower. It gets an eight-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel drive. Another engine option is the 5.7-liter V8. It is rated at 390 pound-feet of torque and 360 horsepower. It also gets an eight-speed automatic with rear-wheel drive. Both of these engines have the option to have all-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive. When the V6 engine is properly equipped it can tow up to 6,200 pounds, beating most of the Durango's competitors. The V8 engine can to up to a maximum of 7,400 pounds, which is better than a lot other of truck-based SUVs. The fuel economy can't be beat with both the engines: the V6 gets 21 miles-per-gallon combined with 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway and the V8 engine gets 17 miles-per-gallon combined with 14 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway.

Design of Dodge Durango

This three-row crossover is available in four trim styles: SXT, GT, Citadel, and R/T. There is an option to make the second-row captain's chairs. The base features are 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlamps, fog lamps, keyless ignition and entry, a load-leveling rear suspension, cruise control, height-adjustable driver seat, three-zone climate control, cloth upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a six-speaker sounds system, and a 5-inch touchscreen interface. The Technology Group package for the Citadel and R/T include adaptive cruise control, a forward collision warning system with automatic braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning. The Brass Monkey appearance package includes gloss-black, 20-inch bronze-painted wheels, black headlamp bezels, and extra body-color trim. The Blacktop appearance package gets 20-inch, black-painted wheels and black-out exterior trim items.

Conclusions

All the Durango trims come with all the standard safety and security features. They are stability and traction control, anti-lock disc brakes, a driver knee airbags, front side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags. All the Durango trims, except SXT, come with rear parking sensors and a rearview camera. The SXT has the option to add both of those features. The Uconnect system has an 8.4-inch touchscreen that comes with emergency assistance and stolen vehicle tracking.
