Located in the beautiful state of Arizona, Gilbert has a rich history. Also known as "Hay Shipping Capital of the World," Gilbert, AZ, was formerly a Mormon agricultural village founded by William "Bobby" Gilbert, who named it after Hattie, his wife. Gilbert became a city in 1912 after President Taft signed an Act of Congress in 1911.
